Without you

If ever you should leave me
my world would fall apart
not only would I lose you
I'd also lose my heart.
You'd leave my soul barren
no feelings left inside
only cherished memories
of a time when you were mine.
No longer would this smile
be here upon my face
gone would be the happiness
sorrow would take it's place.
My tears would fall forever
my arms would always ache
for if I couldn't hold you
I know my heart would break.

    This has happened to me and I can relate to every heartbreaking line.I'm a sap for poems of love and loss and this one is so beautiful and touching.Technically the rhyme sceme is great and helps the poem flow so smoothly, but it's the emotion and what you say that is the true power behind this.Great piece.
