Together Forever

He lays in the hospital bed
Thinking back to the times he's had
The dreams he's kept but never fulfilled
The times when he's been sad

He thinks of all the times he's had
High school pranks and nights out having fun
The people he's shared his life with
The girl he knew was the one

They shared so many special moments
They'd spent nights talking without any sleep
She'd gone to him when something was wrong
He'd kiss her forehead while she'd weep

Every day of his life he lives with regret
He should have proposed to her that day
Before he knew it, before he could act
The one he loved slipped away

So now he lays on his deathbed
A small smile forming on his face
For he knew he was about to see her again
He was going to a better place

He takes the last breath of his life
His last tear silently falls
He enters a world that's been waiting
And he listens as his true love calls

Heaven found a new angel
He found the love that was meant to be
They walk together hand in hand
Beside the heaven's sea
