Closer to Good-bye

I wonder what happened
to the beautiful life
we once shared
I look in your eyes
I see nothing there
I touch your hand
you pull away
I can't live like this
for even one more day
Not a day goes by
when my tears don't flow
sometimes I think
it'd be better if I go
My heart won't let me
because I love you so much
But my head tells me
to just give up
I want to stay
and love you without end
but every time I try
you just hurt me again
Don't you notice
all the times I cry
every tear
brings us closer to good-bye.
