My perfect lie

My happy smile
And the twinkle in my eye
Is the perfect cover
To a perfect lie

Maybe I seem happy
Maybe I don’t seem sad
But that’s what hurts the most
Cause I wanna cry so bad

Sometimes holding back
Is the worst thing to do
Because that just builds the pain
That was caused because of you

I don’t want you to see
So I don’t let it show
I guess you could call me a liar
And this lie just continues to grow

I’m sorry for the hurt I’ve caused
It’s not what I wanted to do
I just need you to see the pain I feel
That came to me from you
