Candlestick(A Comparison of me)

by Shelby G.   Feb 9, 2005

A flame is lit, and continues to burn
Melting slowly away
The wax will slowly form into nothing
The nothingness of being eaten by emotions
Slowly losing altitude, taking care not to lose control
If to possably lose control
It could affect a lot more
More than just the wick
Wax dripping down the side
Forming nothing
The flame doesn't grow nor shrink
And through all it's exsistance
It remains the same colour
All it does is slowly wither away
... Into nothing
And once it begins burning
It doesn't stop
Until someone kills the flame
And if no one comes
Then it will eventually die
It will become nothing
The wick will burn away
But some wax will remain
soul less, without a warmth
Without a light to guide it
And when it's all burnt away
It'll be replaced with a new one
And even after that, It will burn away to nothing

Nothing but a pile of uselessness

This poem would not have been nearly as interesting if in the title you hadn't had "a comparision to me." It was an exceedingly sad poem, but good nonetheless. It was 'deep' for want of a better word. Keep it up.
