We All Saw

by Jacklyn   Feb 9, 2005

The news was no surprise,
We all saw it with our eyes,
She’s forgetting simple things,
Soon she’ll even forget out names,
She’ll forget all our faces,
She’ll forget all out memories,
At first she’ll fade slow,
But later on it will really show,

The news was no surprise,
We all saw it with our eyes,
The bourses and the cuts,
For she’s hit all the time at home,
Unable to escape, unable make him pleased,
He hits her more until she’s screaming in pain,
At first she’ll fade slow,
But later on it will really show,

The news was no surprise,
We all saw it with our eyes,
Drunk driving was never right,
But he still does it all the time,
Drinks to escape the pain,
He drinks to escape reality,
Each time he drinks a little more,
At fist he’ll fade slow,
But in the end it will really show,

The news was no surprise,
We all saw it with out eyes,
The pain within his chest,
When he was diagnosed,
Chemo wouldn’t work,
He lost so much hope,
At first he’ll fade slow,
But later on it will really show,

The news was no surprise,
We all saw it with our eyes,
Dealing drugs to the thugs,
Living on his own,
A dropout of high school,
A future of failure so close,
At first he’ll fade slow,
But in the end it will really show,

The news was no surprise,
We all saw it with our eyes,
Her struggles within life,
The loneliness within her mind,
The friends she never had,
Her future was so bright,
At fist she’ll fade slow,
But later on it will really show,

The news was no surprise,
We all saw it with our eyes,
The loneliness in her life,
The failing grades to showcase,
“Shut up” are the only worlds she spoke,
She was always so alone,
At first she’ll fade slow,
But later on it will really show,

The news was no surprise,
We all saw it with out eyes,
But nothing was ever done,
We all stood aside and watched,
Something’s we could have changed,
Some we could have not,
At fist they faded slowly,
But in the end it really showed,

People brought down by gun,
Diseases and caner too,
Left alone in dark corners,
Beatings and drugs,
Seems like no one cared,
As we just stood aside and stared,
They all lost their lives,
But now it’s too late to change back time.

I think that it's a good poem written with feeling, though I think you could have maybe found a perfect rythym for the repeating lines. That would make it perfedt! 4.
