My Birthday Wish

My big day is coming up
It's only a few days away
It's also known as
My 16th birthday

I've looked forward to this day
Since the day I was born
So the real question is
Why am I so torn

I am not as excited
As I always thought I'd be
And all this makes me wonder
If theres something wrong with me

Unlike most people
Who would want the world to know
I am going to do my best
To not let this show

The only thing I ask for
On my so called "special" day
Is to have someone re-assure me
That everythings ok

I'm just not so sure
If this is where I belong
And I'm starting to think
That I was wrong all along

So for now Ill keep smiling
And pretending everythings just fine
And I'll try my best
To enjoy this birthday of mine
