Whispers in a Graveyard

by ~*LorienElf*~   Feb 10, 2005

I sit alone on the ground
In a graveyard of the dead
The white moon circles around
As shadows swim through my head

The markers of each grave
Is a dark warning to all
But to me, they will save
From my bloody fall

I listen to the sound
Of their wise advice
I lay upon the mound
My heart is cold as ice

They speak to me of pain
Of suffering and sorrow
I stay to listen even in the rain
I'll stay maybe forever, or just until tomorrow

The dead are my only friend
They tell me more than anyone
They tell me of the coming end
It's better than being out in the sun

Someday I will join them
Go down to their depth
With shadows hanging on my hem
And soaked in tears I have wept

I'll lie the the coffin
To finally rest in peace
Without the pain that now comes often
Perhaps the awful feelings will finally cease

Until then I will stay
In this graveyard of stone
Next to the dead will I lay
To hear the whispers alone
