Listen

by Hayley   Feb 10, 2005

Listen please just hear
I’m going to tell you your deepest fear.
I am about to confes
to being depressed
so Listen, don’t give me a hug.
I’ll just shake you off with a sad shrug.
I understand that you never knew
but I’m only 15, I don’t know what to do.
So Listen, don’t stare at my cuts.
People always said, I was just another one of the s-luts.
I never did mean to listen to what they say
but when they keep it up, it gets harder each day.
And you never seemed to care, you never stuck up for me.
You never knew that depression I’d see.
So listen to me now, with tears in your eyes,
Not once did I ever tell you lies.
I always let my sadness show,
hoping soon that you would know.
Maybe that you’d understand
why I always wear a wristband,
so listen please, just hold me and look me in the eye,
maybe just help me not want to say goodbye.
