*Innocent Life*

by little birdy   Feb 10, 2005

The shattered glass in pieces
The broken torn up walls
He pictured every moment
From start, till it all falls

The broken record player
Is on the ripped up floor
The footsteps of a stranger
Came in and out the door

The cracks in kitchen tile
A crushed vise on the ground
A picture of a young girl
And no one else around

He pictures her just lay there
The blood from head to toe
A knife lying beside her
A pillow torn like snow

She seemed so sweet and innocent
But didn’t get to live the life
Because the footsteps in and out
Have killed her with a knife

He looked through everything again
Each picture at least twice
Wondering the child’s death
And what’s the killer’s price

Why kill an innocent young girl?
The age of only nine
No longer does she have her colors
Her lips have lost their shine

The things that people do in life
And hurt ones that don’t need it
Might kill a life, send free a soul
And have no problems admitting it
