Beyond Imagination

by Mark Spencer   Feb 11, 2005

I once tried to imagine
An inconceivable facade.
Beyond imagination,
That is the countenance of God.

I will never comprehend,
What human minds cannot contain.
To look upon God's glory
Would drive a mortal man insane.

Only human arrogance,
Would lead a person to believe
They could put a face to one
Whom even prophets can't perceive.

And if imagination
Brings God's appearance into view,
Understand what you're seeing
Is a vision that isn't true.

So remember this warning
Should you give in to temptation,
The true image of the Lord
Is beyond imagination.

    A mighty piece.
But bonsider "them" without an imagination, or one at least as vivid as one who authors it.
"They" must have a face. In the absence of His force His love for them can never be enough when they cannot begin to fathom something so intangible.
