The Race

by Rachael   Feb 11, 2005

It was always hard to believe them when they said 'life goes on'
back when everything was covered in ribbons and lace
like there were really a Vanilla Sky as portrayed by Monet.
The world presented an illusion
and society made us believe
in sophistication of the mind;
a nondescript misconception.
We strive for one thing;
success.
It seems we race and push
higher than mountains, deeper than the seas
destroying all in our paths
just to get there.
Before life can go on,
it must first start.
I'll see you when you get there,
if we ever get there.
