No woman deserves this

by peter prescott   Feb 11, 2005

Do you really need the hassle
do you really need the strain
do you really need his words
playing havoc with your brain

Ive seen how much he hurt you
Ive seen your pained expression
Ive seen your cuts and your scars
that fill me with depression

i know how he beat you
i know your pain and strife
i know that he raped you
thats not how a man treats his wife

then you got the courage
then you seen the light
then you realized no woman
deserves a life of shite

you finally got a divorce
you set your spirit free
you finally got to live your life
the way a life should be

a life of love and happiness
a life with no more pain
a life full of beautiful things
till he turned up again

he said how much hes changed
he said hes different now
he said you have to trust him
you did i don't see how

you started to be together
you tried to start anew
you said this is what you want
and yet he still beat you

still you wanted to believe
still you try and try
still you thought you deserve this
so no more tears will you cry

you say its what you deserve
you say he loves you so
you say its all that you are worth
well i don't think so...NO!

i don't understand just how
i don't know the reasons why
i don't see how you take this
when all you ever do is cry

no woman deserves this
no woman you know its true
no woman is a punch bag
and that includes you

That touches me on a personal level. I am getting out of a relationship almost like that right now and I have gone back several times but there is always hope that she will see the light and realize that she deserves better. Keep fighting the good fight and one day you will win!
