Trying to say I Love You

Baby you know I love you,
I just haven't spoken the words.
I want the timing to be right,
Without sounding absurd.

We've been together long enough,
Someone finally passed my test.
I usually get rid of them after a month or so,
But you, put my mind at rest.

Everything you do and say,
Its like you read my mind.
Did someone clue you in on me?

I love taking care of you,
My daughter thinks you are great.
She is a good judge of character,
At such an early age.

The funny thing is I've known you for years,
We dated once before.
I just never realized back then,

So when I finally speak the words,
Please know they are from my heart,
And I hope that when I say them,
It doesn't make us fall apart.
