Lights on the horizon flicker with the last remains of our dear sun;
Songs of hope fade to the silence ness that has condemned this earth every night since first created
Beauty of the night unfolds its last time as the hourglass gives only seconds left
Grasping on to the edge not wanting to let go, yet a new light beckons, a more beautiful light
A light brighter than the sun, calling, growing, glistening against the black background
Two arms appear; they welcome, warmly spread
Oh, how hard it is not to let go from the ledge now, to walk over to those arms, to go to that beautiful light

A new song grows, as the old one dies
A song clearer than the last, a song only angels could sing
What new world lay beyond those arms, beyond that light?
Letting go of the ledge and walking towards the light, temptation has taken over
Never to look back to the world that bore much pain these last few days
Never to say goodbye to what was, or would be
Beyond this light is a new kingdom, much greater than any have witnessed
Beyond this light...home

    ~thank you for the comment first and foremost~

    Read this lil profile of yours, so you believe you're not good @ poetry? Most times I just tell people they are what they believe they are but when I read this poem, I realized I got much more to say:)

    Well, like Pete said, perfect imagery...I felt like I was there, you caught me in your poem (hard thing to do but u did it hunz) and also, you're creative, you used a wide range of vocabulary which is great for your age! my only suggestion to you would be shorten your lines up a bit when writing because often, readers lose interest but this poem was amazing Kady!! don't you ever stop writing or i'mma come and get ya! lol j/k!

    God bless
