Hide and Seek

by Unknown2Thyself   Feb 12, 2005

Through his hands he peeks,
watching her run away.
Silently he counts to twenty,
each number getting closer.

He finishes counting and starts to follow,
he makes his way slowly up the stairs.
Each step he takes he calls her name,
looking behind every door and piece of furniture.

He's gone through every room but one,
the one waiting at the end of the hall.
Silent he walks to wards the door,
but when he turns the knob, nothing.

He calls "come out, come out!"
but no one answers.
He takes his key,
and unlocks the door.

He pushes the door open,
to find boxes upon boxes.
as he steps into the room he steps on something sticky,
he looks down to see red covering the floor.

He follows th path of the red,
coming to a box in the corner.
Beneath the box is red,
and it's leaning to wards the open window.

He slowly open the box,
leaning in to see what's inside.
He finds Maggie cold dead eyes staring up at him,
and he knows his game of hide and seek is over.
