Heavens gate

by peter prescott   Feb 12, 2005

No light its dark
i cannot breathe
i don't want to be here
i want to leave

no sight no sound
theres only black
i cant stay here
i want to go back

my body cold
its heat all gone
i wonder to myself
whats going on

i try to move
but I'm frozen still
i have to move
from this deathly chill

then a light
a sound so true
i see all the people
that i once knew

they softly whisper
in my ear
don't be afraid
you've nothing to fear

take my hand
and hold on tight
and let us guide you
to the light

i hold on tight
and feel full of love
we start to float
to heaven above

the cold has gone
its all left behind
i feel the warmth
of love for mankind

i sometimes look
down on you
and quietly watch
all the things you do

all the things
people do and say
how people hurt
each other every day

why does it matter
what you believe in
why does it matter
the colour of your skin

why cant man
live together
why cant man
share peace forever

so cant you see
how wrong it all is
we have one life
don't waste it like this

i learned these things
when i went to heaven above
i learned life's too short
for nothing but love

so what I'm saying to all of you
i wish you love in all that you do
don't live your life full of hate
you'll regret it like me at heavens gate
