Two Tear Drops

by Driver   Feb 13, 2005

Two teardrops fell on an autumn night.
Long foreseen was the dreadful fight.
But nothing was done to prevent it.
So the battle waged, while two worlds split.

Love and happiness once was, no longer existing.
Just pain is relevant, and you can see the eyes misting.
Years were planned, and lives were put on the line.
But he just sits in loneliness, wishing it were fine.

So many memories to remember with so little time.
His thoughts just trail off in the wind like a chime.
Time ticks by, as he tries to get over his pain.
He tires to turn the page, but the memories leave a stain.

Promises broken just tear him apart, not knowing where to start.
Everyone gives him advice, saying to listen to his heart.
Yet his heart tells him to hold on, just for a little longer.
So he hits his knees, asking Him to make him stronger.

So day-by-day, he hung on to the love ho once knew.
Each day hoping to have her to start out new.
Hope stays strong with his tainted soul, for her love.
Cause he knows he’ll wait till he joins the lord above.

This poem's so sweet but at the same time it made me feel a little sad. I liked that, it's a good combination. The title "Two Tear Drops" caught my attention, very original and says a little about the poem, before you actually read the poem.

    Good job! 5/5

    Keep writing.
