Book of Memories...

by Roberto Serrano   Feb 13, 2005

I’m weaving together an album of pictures imprinted in my mind,
I’m weaving lost but humble memories that keep our souls intertwined,
I’m pasting pictures in an album that I choose to never forget,
Each picture taken from a time in my life where I’ve been my happiest,
They say a soul is set free when a baby is born into this world,
I just want to thank that free soul for allowing breath to enter into my girl,
They say pictures imprison the soul but what if my soul belongs to another,
I pledged my undying soul and the rest of my life to my eternal lover,
She’s the woman that gently holds my hand with moist palms,
The woman that blushed when I stared into her deep brown eyes for the first time,
She has a smile that can catch the attention of the brightest star in the furthest constellation,
A smile that can make the most focused man loose his concentration,
I would paste the memory of the first time I saw her standing in the cold,
I would paste the pictures of my bruised fingers that got caught as the car window rapidly rolled,
I would paste the picture of our first innocent kiss,
I would paste a picture of her face so I can engrave my mind with her lovely lips,
I can picture my book of memories growing thicker as we grow stronger,
Until my book of memories becomes ours and you realize my heart will never wonder,
I’m weaving together an album of pictures imprinted in my mind,
I’m weaving my deepest memories so the world can see we lasted the test of time,
I’m weaving together a book of memories because this way I will never loose you,
I’m weaving together a book of our memories… because how else can I show you how much I love you…
