If only

by ~lost in memories~   Feb 13, 2005

If only, if only
That’s all he would sigh
“If I could be up high,
Flying through the sky.
To leave behind my pains and worries,
To receive my glads and glories.”

If only, if only
That’s all he would sigh.
“That day will come,
And all my pain would be done.”

If only, if only
He could be without misery or dred.
As he laid in his bed,
The last words that he said,
“If only, if only
My world wasn’t dead.”

The next morning they found him,
Lying face down on the floor,
A note was in his hand saying,
“I wish this world had more."
