I want you to know me

by Timothy   Feb 14, 2005

1st Verse:
I see you from across the room,
But it might as well be to the moon;
You are surrounded by a very large crowd,
And I can see you are on a cloud.

You are smart and handsome, and have a great personality,
What do I have that you would even see?
You can be a teacher's pet, and yet a rebel,
But I don't fit in...on any level....

Chorus:
Baby, I want you to know me,
Really open your eyes and see;
If you could shed the cliques, and be your own man,
Heaven's Gate is where we'd stand....
Baby, I want you to know me,
Because, I know our union was meant to be;
Push away the cheerleaders and take my hand,
I'm soaring so high...I'll never touch land....

2nd Verse:
I see you and I get weak at the knees,
I try to move my lips, but they freeze;
Both my feet have become solid lead,
And there's not one articulate word in my head.

You raise your head and our eyes meet,
I'm shaking from my head to my feet;
You smile and wave, and I think I'm going to die,
Then I see the cheerleader walk by....

Repeat Chorus:
Baby, I want you to know me,
Really open your eyes and see;
If you could shed the cliques and be your own man,
Heaven's Gate is where we'd stand....
Baby, I want you to know me,
Because, I know our union was meant to be;
Push away the cheerleaders and take my hand,
I'm soaring so high...I'll never touch land....
