My child the morning sun is here to chase
Only smiles, laughter, and innocents in your face
Don't worry my child I will take care of you
Your fun will be much and your worries few

The sun has gone down
It is now nighttime and time to put on a frown
My child you are growing up
I am no longer always by your side
Now your own foes you will have to defy

Innocence little yet you still have many fears
My child I no longer listen to your pleas
You are on your own
Many mistakes you make and yet I will not pay your fees
Sorry my parents I never should have expected
I know I am not the child you knew
I have grown up and my worries are no longer few
So I won't bother

But that would be a mistake
