Cutters

There's more to a cutter
than what is on their arms
There's a reason why
they result to this
why they inflict themselves
with self harm

they're not like everyone else
they don't let anyone
see what they feel
they wont confess to anything
until their scars have finally healed

they wont roll up their sleeves
and show their secrets
everytime they look at their scars
they regret it,
they regret giving in
giving into ending their life
trying to find a way out
and seeking it with a knife

there's nothing you can say to them
to make them feel alright
not a word of sympathy
will get them through the night

They know when peope say "i know"
that it is only half true, they may know people who do it
but they will never understand
the cuts, until they have gone through it too

there's nothing left
for them to live for
and it drives them insane
because they know the only thing keeping them alive is the amount
of flesh from the vein

bleeding excites them
death is a wish they can't think of anything or anyone to miss

there's nothing to understand
except, that they want to die
kept awake in the night
blood dripping from the knife and arm
as tears start swelling in their eye
they silently sob in the dark
listen closley,
can you really hear them cry?
