A Deadly Rose called "Love"

Another lonely girl
Another silent tear
Another empty heart
Wishing you were here

She stares at the single rose
She bought for Valentines Day
She puts the rose between her hands
And then begins to pray

“This rose is like our love”
She whispers as she’s crying
“Its beautiful when it blooms,
But its over, now its dying”

There’s no use holding on
To something that only lasts so long
Because in the end you’ll finally realize
That from the beginning its been wrong

She tries to close her eyes
Without making a peep
But its far too hard to hold it back
When her heart has been cut so deep

She swore this was the last time
She would let her guard down
Because every single time she does
It always leads to a frown

So I guess this is where
The story finally ends
There’s nothing harder in the world
Than going back to being “just friends”
