Desperate Dreams

Tomorrow is unfriendly because she’s not here.
Each night I lie awake, talking to my biggest fear.
He speaks to me, telling me to admit that I’ve lost.
Lost the love I adore, as our hearts are uncrossed.

Promises to always be happy were soon broken.
As the dreadful words from the mouth was spoken.
He tells me to move on, and never look back again.
I just wish that for once our hearts I could mend.

She was the light in my darkness that kept me here.
But each night I looked, and saw another salty tear.
Sorrow was the only thing to be seen in her eyes.
And our hearts were torn saying our goodbyes.

I hold on to hope wishing to be with her once more.
But each day I wake wanting to know what’s in store.
She tells me she still loves me and I love her too.
But there is never anything that we can ever do.

My fear tells me I’m living in desperate dreams.
As the tears from her eyes, run into streams.
We both hope for the best wanting to be together.
So we’ll sit around waiting no matter the weather.
