God Is Near

She walked slowly
Her tears ran free
She felt so lonely
With no place to be.

“I’m not wanted,” she said,
“By these people on Earth,
And God’s too far away
To feel my hurt.”

God watched her in silent pain.
He knew what she felt,
Like there was nothing to gain.
He looked into her eyes as the tears fell.

“I’m here,” God said, “Not far away.”
“All you have to do is seek and find.”
“I’m with you every single day.”
“You’ll pray to me, you’ll find me in time.”

She went on; the world tore her down.
She couldn’t feel God, although she tried
She had no one to trust, there was no one around
And at last she cried.

She cried for God, the things she did,
The things that others did too.
For all the people that had sinned,
But she didn’t have a clue.

That through all that time God held her hand
Not far away, but near.
He listened to her, and he planned
For her future to be clear.

Once she realized the truth that day,
She went to seek out God.
She found Him with her whole heart and prayed
As inside and out she sobbed.

She met God, and God met her
She’ll never again be lonely
Because God is always near
She now has God, the One and Only.
