My little trooper

by Unrequited   Feb 16, 2005

I stop, reflect, then stop once more
see you lying on the floor
the blood dripping down your mouth
if you don’t breathe, i don’t breathe
i hope there’s something up my sleeve
there’s pain ‘round us today
the shady figure in the corner
asks her to enter light
but she’ll put up a fight
and we’ll love with all our might
my dear’s not ready to take flight
but she’ll overcome this plight
she feels pain all through the night
but now the light is gone
(but peace she now attains)

*for my mother, who is sitting with our Lord.*
