What is poetry?
The gentle touch of words,
or something much deeper?
Is it a blend of reality and the surreal,
or something much less profound?
I think it’s both
Both carefree and dead serious
Both real and unreal
A mix of everything
Our thoughts
Our emotions
Our outlooks
Our pain
Our outlet
Our intake
Our connection
Our separation
The web
The door
The window
The vent
The knife
The skylight
The sensation
The rays
All of these things
And so much more
And that is why I sit
Pouring out my thoughts
Because I love it
