Today, when I drank it
My blood, it tasted sweet
The red liquid running
And my lips it did meet
But while I sit and feed
It's your blood that I need
Is it my blood that is changing?
Am I losing cells red or white?
Or is it a taste I am acquiring?
Day by day and night by night
Or perhaps it has remained the same
And it's only you that's changed
Can I take my blood
And cast it in the streets
For the children to swim and play in
And for everyone to drink
Perhaps an angry person I would meet
Who would release my thick dark blood
Forever flowing sweet
