Thanks for Asking

***Warning: This is an actual event put into poem form. The repetition and length of each line were intentional. I'm trying to get a hidden point across without announcing it aloud.***

Rain.

Rain.

Rain.

Hugging your arm as we walk.

"What's wrong?" you ask.

Silence.

Silence.

Silence and rain.

"What's wrong?" again.

No sound.
Pleading eyes.

Warmth, compassion.

"What's wrong?" one last time.

"Just a bad day."

Hidden tears.

Step. Step. In-step with you.

"Worse than yesterday?"

Pause.

"Yeah."

Rain.
Rain.

Rain.

Stops~

(("Thank-you for asking."))
