Angel of Death

All the angels fly around
Happy and singing
Peace have they found
The golden bells are ringing

I fly with them on shining wings
Carefree as well
But then came the night
And I began to wander toward hell

I slowly changed and became different
Not noticeable at first
Then the shadows were sent
To bring me down to the cursed

I grew fond of the dark place
My escape from the brightness
But once the other angels chased
When I slipped away to the land that's sunless

They caught me with the shadows
And I was banished from above
Now the darkness openly shows
To me they will no longer show love

I throw my halo to the ground
It shatters into bloody pieces
If they don't want me around
Then my time up there will cease

Now I stay in the dark
I fully change now
My hair turns black and stark
And to me, the shadows endow

Once white were my bright wings
But they begin to gray
Dirty with sins
And beginning to fray

Now they hang down
Torn and tattered
Like cloudy shadows is my gown
My once light spirit is shattered

Forevermore I will bring with me death
To all that stand in my way
I let out a trembling breath
And think why did I ever stray

Well it doesn't matter anymore I'm caught in this black rain
For however long it will pour
That will be the length of my dark pain
