Opportunity Falls

by Oliver F. T. Lee   Feb 18, 2005

Opportunity is blooming,
The paternity calls.
The maternity is looming,
Opportunity falls.

Brotherhood over sisterhood,
At the bottom of the ladder she stays.
Atop the mountain he stood,
The respect for her, the bottom it lays

He who's skin is lightless be often frail,
May even falter if low on melanin,
May never hear the end of this sad tale,
Why do you discriminate against the color of skin?

For a man is loved if from the same culture
Do not judge by the color of skin,
May be a critter judged by a vulture,
Judged by its size and even the color of its skin.

Will there be a day, will there be a day,
When we are no longer in dismay
