Goodbye Innocent December

by DMG   Feb 18, 2005

A love I only can remember
Died with me in late December,
Growing old, the Christmas fire
Burned my heart with lost desire,
As the time passed by my eyes
Only myself could I despise,
The Christmas tree shined its light
That my love entered in the night,
A season lived with loving care
Had emptied the eyes of despair,
Memories of hopeful youth
Showed me only hopeless truth,
This tree, this fire, used to be
The life of innocence to me,
Now the flame has dimmed its glow
And taken what I used to know,
So why live past our hopeful youth
When what lives next is hopeless truth.

I really love every single one of your poems.I especially like the way that u add rithym to every poem and just make it sound good. Some of the poems were funny, which is a great way to show your sense of humor. I read all of your poems just in one day...lol. But i never got bored with anyone. I especially like "Goodbye Innocent December"(which is this 1), "Alone on a Summer's Day", "Still Searching", "A Disney Tale"(which i think its really sweat & cute), and last but not least "Imagine Peace". I rated all of your poems with a *5*, cause i just think that they r great. I think that u are a great writer and u should keep up the good work. Cause if u do i'll keep reading, every single poem that u write, i just think that its realy amazing the way u write.
