Solitude

by Luke   Feb 18, 2005

Sweetest solitude
In this coldest land
Wind pierced heart
My enfrozen hand

My trail
Footprints that fade
This trail
Of hearts that we made

This barren plain
It’s virgin cover
Left from the cloud
Harsh winter’s lover

Trekking forth
Still I remain
To late to turn
Dispite crimson stain

What is determination?
Some sick motivation
To drive forth
Such a man as I

Why persist?
In the plight
What does thrift?
For yet have I
Stumble to keep
Hold my tears to weep

Especially the first lines made me think of winter and snow...and cold. The poem left me kinda numb...I loved it. Very meaningfull. Keep writing,

Your work always... leaves me completely awed and stunned. No other poet can really leave that effect on me... this is so brilliant! I read it aloud to myself, and was just shocked at how flowing it really was. You are a talented person; I immensely enjoy reading all your stuff.
I hope to read more- and if you ever want to talk about any of your work, or anythign at all, feel free to email me via poems-and-quotes.
