lost love
We scream thoughtless words into the insipid skies watching the sunsets fade away behind the ever returning rain clouds. In the rain we dance, our minds soar, our hearts bleed. We're filled with lackluster memories of summers ago when the storm of the century killed us all, no we're still alive but it killed everything we ever believed in, and all our dreams dissapeared into the night and it seems like happiness is so far away and we'll never make it that far. Were running on empty and the fuels almost gone. One day I will return, I'll be coming home. When the last leaf falls off the last tree, making silent ripples in the pond of memories we used to share in your backyard. You'll stare across the waters surface and our reflections will meet, I'll look up at you and stare into incandescent eyes, only you turn away and leave me. You left me staring at the two bleeding pieces of my heart, one half in one hand, the second half in the other. I've come so far, but your still so far away. I never understood why you left that day, left me there heartless. How foolish was I to think you could ever change. So I put my heart back together the best I could, and started back home. Home? What was I thinking, the only place I ever felt was home, was right here. But home floated away along with your reflection. |
