For my bestest friend

by heidi*lynn   Feb 19, 2005

I still don’t quite remember the day that we met
But the memories we’ve shared I will never forget

I am writing you this from the bottom of my heart
Because deep down inside of me I don’t even want to part

I wanna take the time to thank you for keeping me strong
And letting me know when the things I did were wrong

Ill always remember you as my best friend I hope one day we’ll be together before the end

We once made a promise, best friends forever
And that promise I will forget never

You can always expect me to be there
Always waiting to drop down and care

Do you remember all those late night talks?
Whether we were talking about our friendship or just more dumb jocks

Do you remember when we swore forever and friends for life we’d be?
I hope you don’t forget me along the way, I need you can’t you see?

Do you remember my dumb grandma on those shopping sprees?
I swear that dumb lady doesn’t even know her ABC’s.

So as I write this last line and get ready to go
My eyes have filled and the tears are starting to flow.

I love you so much Devin, I hope we don’t end this now.

I thought this poem was great till the end part. What's the part about 'dumb grandma" mean?
