You should have asked

by tabithaa   Feb 19, 2005

Your forcing me to stay,
But your letting me go,
Your going really fast,
But your going really slow.

You see me from the distance,
But up close I am not there,
You look concerned a mile away,
But two feet away you do not care.

Am I a shadow wrapped around you?
Am I a stupid memory?
If I am only three feet away,
How much of me do you see?

Do you see me for who I am,
Or who you think I'll be?
Maybe you shouldn't judge right away,
But see the good inside of me.

A black night, But stars do shine,
Do you see them the way I do?
Do you think of me as an equal,
Or a lesser being than you?

I sit upon a rainy day,
Just listening 'Pitter,Patter
And wondering if asking you his,
Will even matter.

I stay up, your not here with me,
because I'm a reflection of the past,
But a couple leaving words,
If you wanted to break me you should have asked.
