Once

by sarah   Feb 19, 2005

Once to love I will never forget
Once to kiss on my pinkish lips
Once to hold around my waist
Once to lightly blow in my face
you were once and now here I am
Scared and alone on this strange land
You were Taken by the one I trusted all my life
The one that I did for, I made a sacrifice
My best friend my weakest spot
Its like she new it all along like a plot
She is yours and you left me alone
No friends no nothing just the word “stoned”
Scary at first but the pain can not heal
I looked at it and thought “this is real”
When you try that stuff you can’t stop
And soon enough you’ll get caught
Thanks to you and thanks to her
My life is ruined are the words I prefer
You kill me with your words
Now you kill me and my brother
Saying things that hurts our trust
Like lies about him and your girl if you must
You say things to ruin my reputation
Like I’m bisexual and all kinds of discrimination
Once was me and once was you
Once was my life and now its through

I really liked the last two lines, I think they were a powerful end to a deeply meaningful poem. Good write, Keep it up, and thank you for your comment on my poem, it means a lot.

Brilliant, some heart renching points in this poem. I like the way it starts, it's like a slow introduction to the subject before it gets deeper. I liked it!!
