These eyes

by Josh Sowiecki   Feb 20, 2005

In these eyes of ice there's warmth.
In this heart of steel there's understanding.
In this body of pain there's love.
In this senseless mind there's wisdom.
These eyes see all, they've seen so much.
This hearts been broken, it gives so much.
This body's been beaten, it heals so much.
This minds been blank, it knows so little.
These eyes have been blind, seen nothing at all.
This heart has felt love just to have it taken away.
This body has been held just to be let go.
This mind has been used just to discard the thought.
Through these eyes you're perfect, if only to me.
In this heart there's you, you and only you.
On this body there's arms holding you always.
In this mind there's thoughts, thoughts of my baby gurl.

I liked the semi-repitition in this ... it gave it a sense of direction in some peculiar way.

"Through these eyes you're perfect, if only to me." - This sealed the deal for me :D, a total relentless love no matter what. Awesome poem.
