Sunset, Moonrise

by ~*LorienElf*~   Feb 20, 2005

The red sun sets in the west
Fiery and scorched in the sky
The light travels upon the crest
Of the bloodstained clouds up high

The blood drips thicker
The sun slips below the shadowy depth
The sky grows even darker
And the clouds glide away with no time to have wept

Slowly slipping into shadows
Just like my troubled soul
The light now barely shows
As me and the sun fall into that hole

Now the clouds are like mountains
Purple and majestic in the air
Until the light finally ends
And the last bit of sun sinks down there

No more colors in the land
They've been washed out and replaced
With shades of gray from the dark hand
On the other side is the sun faced

Now everything grows dark
The moon rises in the night instead
It casts white shadows and leaves its mark
On the silver path it has lead

No more blood tonight
No more fire anymore
Now there is only white moonlight
Reflected on the bloodstained floor

Good poem, i like the way you put all the colors of the sky into context such as blood or something of that nature, it was really good. I enjoyed the read.
