Shadow of Death

by Trisha   Feb 20, 2005

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
That shadow I will embrace
Death's claws will entwine around me
In my own blood I will bathe
In that pain i will find pleasure
Death;s cold lips will be my own
In it's arms I will find comfort
In my eyes will that shadow be beautiful
A sinful soul, I must have
To embrace it as I do
I must just be sick
Redemption will never find me in this dark place
For I have hidden well among these pretty shadows
I am forbidden to angels
The only warmth I find is in the blood of the innocent
Shameful as that is, it's the way it has to be
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
That shadow I will embrace....

I'm not kidding, this has got to be one of the best poems I've read in a long time. It's so dark, and it just effects me like driving nails through my skin. It just captivates me in a beautifully morbid way. Excellent job. 5/5
