There was a place of all different race

by Jenna #24   Feb 21, 2005

There once was a place a dark strange place,
With all different men of all different race,
They all had a shovel and even a vase,
I know it sounds crazy
But these men are real,
As real as last night's pork and fry meal,
Well they dug long deep holes,
as big as the tall flag poles.
They dug and they dug, threw thousands of bugs,
and they caused lost homes to all different slugs,
they knocked down the trees, and the small gnomes.
The creatures were not happy for them taking their homes,
Thousands have wept, and hundreds have left.
The men took the coal, the water, the pole.
There was nothing left for the mouse and the mole.
These men were miners who dug long deep holes,
took all the trees, the coal, and the gnomes.
They used a long tom,
and a small bomb.
They pushed all the coal down the wood,
and this was not good, for the species there had nothing to wear,
they couldn't even find one little strand of hair,
They stripped off the litter,
MAN they're so bitter,
They dug more holes, and took more coal, and walked away without sealing a hole.
These empty holes could turn into traps,
if you fall in them, your dead as a cat.
What if you go swimming?
They could just collapse,
and you could get hurt perhaps.
You could break your leg, and hatch an egg,
you could hurt your foot, and fall into soot.
These miners, they did not care,
that they could kill a bear,
for they could not share the place...they were there.
They used all the trees, the animals by threes,
they polluted the ponds, there goes Big John,
they greased the air, that they could not share.
They ruined the place, with just one vase.
There once was a place, a dark strange place, with all different men of all different race.
