From the Pouring Rain

by ¤©h€€®ƒüll¥♥©¥ñ!c@l¤   Feb 21, 2005

Whatever happened to everything?
The memories so priceless and
The joy filled afternoons?
What about the lemonade stands
We set up outside our house?
And the sleepovers we had?
Don’t you remember the times
We picked dandelions in the yard?
What about the times we were afraid
To jumping off the swing
And the rainy days
We spent dancing outside?

Did all of this go down the drain?
Did it disappear in the dark shadows?

Now there are no joys in the afternoon,
All my days are gloomy.
The lemons in the lemonade
Have soured our friendship.
There are no more sleepovers either.
But who needs to be together anymore?
The flowers in the garden are dead
Or brittle from the coldness.
That wooden swing is the only place that
Takes away all of my pain
And now the only reason I like the rain
Is because they can’t tell my tears
From the pouring rain.
