My Nightmare

Every night I fall asleep with a smile,
unafraid if I don't wake.
No point in living when I'm not wanted
and every smile is fake.
So every night when I shut my eyes
I try to forget each day,
and dream about something good,
try to wash my nightmare away.
For reality is my nightmare,
and it's not something thats much fun.
Feeling so alone during the day
then having my life come undone.
I try to let the days pass
with people thinking I'm alright.
Never having them question me
and never putting up a fight.
Sometimes I truly wonder
why this is the life I keep,
and truthfully I just cant wait
for that perfect, endless sleep.
