A Smile That's Full and True

by Aidyn   Feb 21, 2005

There's a girl I've known for quite a while
Lately I've been worried about her
I didn't know what to think before,
But now I know;I'm sure

That every smile is just a mask.
Every tear is just a shadow
Of something sad that lurks inside,
Frowning through rose-coloured windows.

She's got a friend with a sharp wit
That does just as he's told.
I don't think he's friend, but foe.
His red-stained edge is dead and cold.

I want to tell her something that
Will end her pain and sadness
To show that the world is full of hope
And end her sharp friend's malice.

The world is full of happiness.
It's sometimes hard to see it
Because sorrow covers and suffocates
As a shroud-like blanket

My friend, when you see this, please
Just stop and think it over
So you can finally take take the weight
Of sadness off your shoulders,

And smile a smile that's full and true
And not a feeble cover.
Be as free as you want to be;
Free and proud! As proud as any other.
