Playing Pretend...

You pass me a look, I know what it means
This is not how I wanted it to be

For one more moment, we will pretend
That we are the very best of friends

We will skip and we will play
Like we used to do all day

For a moment, please, lets forget
All the things that were said

Lets just bask in the light of memories
I don’t want to go back to reality

Please, I’m asking for just one more day
We can enjoy it and then be on our way

But I suppose there’s no time for playing pretend
So this fantasy has got to end

So the time has come, it is today
To say goodbye in my own way

You haven’t been speaking to me for over a year
It’s time to get into gear

I have to lock away the memories
