The Mask

by ¤©h€€®ƒüll¥♥©¥ñ!c@l¤   Feb 21, 2005

Why can’t I seem to run away?
I’m stuck here, in this room
In these same four walls again
All my days are full of such doom

I’m always wishing to be
Something other than myself
A different face, a new attitude
Take my mask off the shelf

I wear this mask most every day
To hide my humiliation of a face
To hide my inner feelings too
To try to make them erased

I never wear it when I’m alone
My feelings aren’t versatile
They are usually sad and a frown
This mask I wear is a smile

So many people where the mask of a smile to hide what's really going on underneath...this reminds me of me. Great job.
