Narcissus II

by Gerard Kurt   Feb 22, 2005

How did you get such beauty?
So rare and no compare.
The answer is yet a mystery,
For no one is aware.

Narcissus, fail not to look at me.
Let me see your perfect face.
You are what I want to be.
One favored by God's grace.

The gods once proud now envy.
For you are born with beauty rare.
They all have lost their vanity,
Conceited, you cannot care.

You are cursed with self love
By the god who punished you.
Your kind of love, I want to have.
Forever faithful, sure and true.

For how could one feel lost and lonely?
If one's insured with self-praise?
Each day are bright not gloomy.
For love is there, the spirits raised.

That's a very interesting poem and well written no doubt. Where as most would curse the conceited nature in here you praise it. I give it a 5/5 for the lovely wording and uniqueness of it.
