Please don’t say I’m the one you want to marry

When we’ve been together less than a year
I’ve seen relationships of five end in a single day
So never say a word like that, always is just too severe

Please don’t say I’m your one and only
Because I’d rather you not lie
Only god knows who we’ll end up with
On that fateful day we die

Please don’t say that you’ll only love me
That I’m the only one to which your heart will belong
Do you know how many times that’s been said?
How many times it’s been wrong?

Please don’t say that without me you can’t live
Because you have much more reason to go on living
Much more you deserve to receive
So much more you could be giving

Please don’t say you’ll always be with me
When you could be gone at any day
You never know when you’ll have to leave
When you have to go without any choice or say

Please don’t talk about our distant future
When we can be living for today, in this moment
Enjoying things now while our love’s still true
While our relationship’s not yet spent
