Shadowed Skeletons

You think your high, no one can stop.
can you look into the mirror and stop?
this is not living it is just existing
why do you fight it? stop resisting

that is how she would take her life
not by way of gun, pills or a knife
but she wasn't going silently into the night
she did all the wrong things. nothing right

how did she end it you'll want to know
she did it in front of an audience, a show
it was done for the whole world to see
no one said anything they just let her be

they had been helping her all along
even though they knew it was wrong
she partied all night drunk and did weed
this is a concept most of us can conceive

they say nothing exceeds like excess
not when your in this kind of distress
you even help her non-the less
despite her cries of distress

i know it was "all in good fun"
after it was over her life was done
most people she met, didn't know their name
she need only look into the mirror for someone to blame

she was the answer and the problem
once you've had one you can't stop um
now your asking yourself what drug she had?
you want me to tell you? well I'll be glad.

she partied when she was only fourteen
to most it was the age of a baby it would seem
"but your only as old as you feel"
this girl was an expert in this field

one thing lead to another and another
she was sexually active but never a lover
doing drugs,hanging out with the wrong crowd
still she held her head up high and was proud.

and again one thing lead to another
her mother and father loved her like no other
they were done being her patsy or her cover
so word got out an spread from one and other

She continued her bad habits and ways
right up until her very last few days
She died at the age of only twenty-one
i know that her life had only just begun

but after her parents kicked her out
at the rest of the world she lashed out
she could have been the next oprah Winfrey
she threw it all away for some stupid party

so if your underage and drinking
take a step back and start thinking
how it hurts your family & the ones you love
think how quickly alcohol can turn over to drugs

just think of the girl i just wrote about
for you don't know you could be on the same route.
